SOC alert triage flowchart template

A SOC triage flowchart helps analysts handle a high volume of alerts consistently. This example enriches each alert with asset, user and threat intelligence, decides whether it is a true positive, tunes the detection if not, scores severity, and either resolves it with a playbook or escalates to a specialist and incident response.

How to use this template

  1. Enrich before deciding

Pull in who the user is, what the asset does and what threat intelligence says before judging the alert. Context prevents most wrong calls.

  2. Tune noisy rules

Every false positive should feed back into the detection rules. Alert fatigue is a bigger risk than a missed tuning task.

  3. Escalate clearly

Define what makes an alert high severity and who takes it next, so analysts do not hesitate.

How do I read the two decision points on this flowchart?
