Theory of change template
Five layers from activities to the long-term goal · A ceiling of accountability line · Numbered assumptions and the evidence behind them
Preview and use template →A logical framework, or logframe, sets out a project as a grid that funders and partners can check at a glance. This example covers boreholes and water committees in 12 villages, with the goal, purpose, outputs and activities down the side and indicators, means of verification and assumptions across the top. A precondition sits below the grid, and notes explain how to read it up and across.

Start with the goal and purpose, then the outputs and activities that deliver them. Each row should lead to the one above.
Give every result a measurable indicator with a baseline and target, and say exactly where the evidence will come from.
For each row, write what must stay true outside the project. If you could manage it yourself, it belongs in the activities instead.
Yes. Add rows under Outputs or Activities and fill in the indicators, means of verification and assumptions for each, so every result has evidence beside it.
