Event planning mind map template

An event planning mind map breaks a big event into areas one person can own. This example puts a two-day, 300-guest conference at the centre, with nine branches from venue and budget to sponsorship and risk, each listing the first tasks and decisions to make, so the team can split the work in the first planning meeting.

How to use this template

  1. Name the event in the middle

Write the event, the number of guests and the dates in the centre. Everything on the map should serve that.

  2. Grow the branches together

In your first planning meeting, add tasks under each branch as people raise them. Drop branches that do not apply and add ones that do, such as travel or accessibility.

  3. Give each branch an owner

Put a name on every branch. When the list under a branch gets long, move it into a run of show or a timeline.
