Preview and use template →MTSS and RTI organise support in three tiers: quality teaching for everyone, small-group help for some and intensive support for a few. This example shows the tiers as rings for a Year 4 reading cohort of 124, with the share of students in each, the data rules for moving in and out of each tier and the screening calendar.

Write what support each tier gives, how often and in what group size, from whole-class teaching to daily one-to-one.
Agree the data that moves a student into a tier and back out, and who makes the decision.
Screen every student a few times a year and hold a data meeting soon after each round to move students between tiers.
Edit the counts in the students in each tier box after every screening point. Change the percentages on the rings if your school uses different thresholds.
