Drip irrigation layout template

A drip irrigation layout shows how water gets from the source to every plant at the right pressure. This example lays out a market garden system with a rainwater tank, pump, non-return valve, filter, pressure regulator and controller, a 25 mm mainline, three valve zones for salads, fruit and a polytunnel, and drip laterals with emitters along each bed, plus flows and run times per zone.

How to use this template

  1. Lay out the beds

Draw the beds and group them into zones that need similar amounts of water.

  2. Size each zone

Count emitters per zone and multiply by their flow to check each zone stays within what the pump and pipe can supply.

  3. Add the head-works

Draw the source, pump, backflow protection, filter, regulator and valves in order, then set run times for each zone.
